With over 30 years of experience in architecture, planning, and design leadership, John Newcomb has shaped transformative projects across mixed-use, residential, hospitality, and master-planned communities. His career spans top-tier global firms, where he has consistently driven innovative solutions that balance creative vision with business impact.
Recognized for his strategic leadership, John has collaborated with developers, financial institutions, architects, engineers, and construction teams to deliver high-value projects across Latin America and beyond. His expertise lies in building multidisciplinary teams and guiding complex developments from concept to completion.
KEY ROLES & ACHIEVEMENTS
Newcomb + Associates – Founder and Creative Director, leading all project development and consulting efforts with a focus on mixed-use developments, residential projects, and master-planned communities across New York, Latin America, and beyond.
CallisonRTKL – Led the Latin America Commercial Practice, managing large-scale projects across the region and driving growth in the mixed-use and retail sectors.
Hewlett Packard Critical Facilities Services – Built and expanded the Latin America practice, focusing on mission-critical projects and multidisciplinary collaboration.
TEN Arquitectos – Institutionalized and expanded an internationally recognized design practice, delivering projects across cultural, residential, and commercial sectors.
KMD Architects – Established and grew the firm’s operations in Mexico and Latin America, setting a standard for architectural delivery in the region.
John holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Architecture from Tulane University. Fluent in English and Spanish, he is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and a trusted leader in architecture and development circles.
With over 20 years of experience in architecture, project management, and historic preservation, Gissela Preciado is known for her meticulous approach to project delivery and her ability to balance client goals with both aesthetic and business objectives. Her leadership ensures that every project—whether a bespoke residence or a large-scale mixed-use development—meets the highest standards of design quality and operational excellence expected from clients.
Gissela’s expertise spans from modern architectural design to the preservation of historic landmarks, with a focus on aligning innovative solutions with community and cultural contexts. Her commitment to excellence, her keen eye to detail, and driven focus ensures that every project is delivered with precision and care.
KEY ROLES & ACHIEVEMENTS
Newcomb + Associates – In addition to supporting project development for CallisonRTKL and KMD Architects, Gissela led Newcomb + Associates operations while John was heading the Latin America practice for CallisonRTKL. During this time, she oversaw mixed-use projects, ensuring seamless coordination between clients, design teams, and project stakeholders across the region
Sociedad Colombiana de Arquitectos – Managed national architectural biennials and competitions, overseeing event planning, juror coordination, and editorial publications to promote design excellence.
City of Bogotá Planning Office – Specialized in the preservation and restoration of historic districts and landmarks, contributing to urban planning initiatives that honored the city's heritage.
Gissela holds a Professional Architecture Degree from Universidad Católica de Colombia and a Master’s in Architecture with a specialization in Historic Preservation and Restoration of Monuments from the National University of Mexico (UNAM). She is fluent in English and Spanish, bringing a global perspective to every project.
